# St Vincent and the Grenadines Forex Licence: Why SVG Does Not License Forex Brokers and What to Do Instead

By the [Broker White Label Solutions team](https://www.brokerwhitelabelsolution.com/our-team) · Published 5 November 2026 · 6 min read

**Quick answer**

There is no St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) forex licence. The SVG Financial Services Authority registers business companies and LLCs but does not license or regulate forex brokerage. Since a 2023 notice, forex brokers registered in SVG must provide a certified copy of a licence from the regulator in each jurisdiction where they do business (the deadline for existing firms was 10 March 2023). An SVG company can still be part of a group structure, but the brokerage licence itself must come from a regulator such as Seychelles, Mauritius or an onshore authority.

**Key takeaways**

- The SVG FSA does not license or regulate forex brokers.
- Since 2023, SVG-registered brokers must show a licence from where they operate.
- An SVG company alone is not a forex licence.
- Pair an SVG entity with a licence from a recognised regulator if you use one.
- Expect payment providers to ask for that licence.

For years, many brokers registered companies in St Vincent and the Grenadines and marketed themselves as "SVG-regulated". That was never a forex licence, and the rules have tightened.

## What the SVG FSA does and does not do

| Activity | SVG FSA |
| --- | --- |
| Registers business companies and LLCs | Yes |
| Issues forex or CFD brokerage licences | No |
| Supervises forex trading activity | No |
| Requires SVG forex companies to hold a licence elsewhere | Yes, since the 2023 notice |

## The 2023 change

In early 2023 the SVG FSA required existing forex brokers registered in SVG to provide a certified copy of the licence they hold from the regulator of each jurisdiction where they conduct business, with a deadline of 10 March 2023, and warned of sanctions for non-compliance. Many brokers moved their licensed activity to other jurisdictions.

## How brokers structure instead

1. Hold the brokerage licence with a recognised regulator, such as [Seychelles](https://www.brokerwhitelabelsolution.com/blog-seychelles-forex-licence) or [Mauritius](https://www.brokerwhitelabelsolution.com/blog-how-to-start-a-forex-brokerage-in-mauritius).
2. Use other group companies only where your lawyers approve the structure.
3. Market only under the licensed entity's name and regulator.
